Seasoned firewood has been air-dried for 6 to 12 months, reducing its moisture content below 20%. Seasoned wood is ready to burn the day it's delivered.
Green firewood is freshly cut and still contains a high moisture content (40–60%). It's heavier, harder to light, and produces more smoke.
